MOSAIC MicroFractional Skin Rejuvenation quickly and effectively treats acne scars, skin pigment, tone, texture and wrinkles. The non-ablative procedure uses an erbium-glass laser and a computerized robotic handpiece to quickly create microthermal zones of tissue injury (micronecrotic columns or MNCs). Depending on the desired results the MNCs may be more superficial or of greater depth and spaced closer or farther apart. Healing is very rapid since the procedure leaves untreated tissue between the MNCs.
Depending on treatment depth and the spacing of MNCs, downtime for recovery can be as short as a weekend. Routine skin rejuvenation is generally completed using topical anesthesia only, but nerve blocks and analgesic medications may be necessary for deeper treatments (e.g. for acne scarring and deeper wrinkles).
MOSAIC MicroFractional Skin Rejuvenation may be viewed as an effective intermediate step between procedures with no downtime (e.g. BroadBand? Light Photorejuvenation, very low energy Portrait? plasma treatments) and those with more downtime (e.g. deep laser skin resurfacing, high energy Portrait? plasma skin regeneration).
MOSAIC MicroFractional Skin Rejuvenation offers a number of advantages over other fractional laser systems (e.g. Fraxel) including random beam placement (avoids discernable edge for treated areas and improves comfort), faster in-motion treatment and greater available treatment energy.
Most patients obtain significant improvement with 3 treatments but difficult cases may require up to 6 treatments. Treatment areas include full face, facial regions, neck, chest and hands.
